WALK BIKE BERKELEY is an all-volunteer organization that advocates for safe, low-stress, and fun walking and biking in Berkeley for people of all ages and abilities.

We want a healthy, equitable, and sustainable transportation system in Berkeley.

Join us to make an impact on policies, plans, and projects that affect walking and biking (while having fun).

Current priorities

  • Advancing the Movement for Black Lives by transferring traffic and parking enforcement from the Berkeley Police Department to unarmed personnel in a new safety and equity focused Berkeley Department of Transportation (BerkDOT).

  • Supporting health, mobility, and economic recovery in Berkeley during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Ensuring that the City implements Council’s 2019 BIBIMBAP referral to dedicate at least 50% of repaving funds to bikeways and high pedestrian injury streets.

  • Rapidly implementing the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate all fatal and serious collisions on Berkeley streets by 2028.
